Gardening Club

On Friday I did gardening club. We  walked there. The person who walks us is called Fiona. I only had 5 weeks. I don’t know who the other children names in the group.  We are all from the Pohutukawa Team.  On the last day we bought home beans for our class and a radish and two sunflowers.  I like gardening club.

Get Set Go

On Friday we went to Get Set Go.  We did  obstacles.  We went in circles.  We went with Soraya.  We went on the cricket pitch.  I liked it because it was super fun.

Athletics                 

On Friday we went to Eden park. We got to met Valerie Adams. We did heaps of activities. We went with Room 7 and Room 1.  My mum was a helper.

Athletics  Day

It was on Thursday.   Soraya  came  with me.  It was at Grey Lynn Park.  I won a Certificate in the boys race. I felt good.

The Opening

Last term we had the opening. The whole school came. It was next to the lower quad. I was doing a speech. I talked on the microphone. I was nervous because there was lots of people.

Art in the Dark

This term  Room 2 and  Room 14 went into old room 3 and 4.  I did dots on the leg.  Then it was finish.  I was happy.

Making the Leg

On Wednesday we made a leg  with Room 14 for Art in the Dark.  We cut bottles.  After cutting out the bottles. We wrote our names on them. After that we tied plastic bags together.  I liked  writing my name on the plastic bags.  It was fun.

Car Mat

Last term Jake, Lucius,  Finch,  Suwat and Nevaeh were lying on the mat.  We  were learning about how many people could fit on the mat.  Five people can fit on the mat.  I liked doing this.

Cinquain Poems:

Last term we learnt how to write a Cinquain Poem.  

Here is the movie that we made for school assembly using photo booth.  We made this movie up in our new classroom.  

These poems are about, Our Solar System and the Autumn Leaves and Trees at Grey Lynn School.

Fantails: Using sketching and water colours.

With the help of Graham Dodd, we have been learning how to sketch birds.  

We have been learning how to use a sketching pencil to make light and dark shading.  Then we used water colours to bring our fantails to life.  

These are our fantails that we showcased in the Pohutukawa Team display,  
Our Place - Our Forest,  at the Grey Lynn School Art Exhibition.

Maths: Measurement

We have been learning about measurement.  Which objects are shorter and taller?  We can put objects in order from shortest to tallest.

We are learning to tell the time using hours and half hours.

Westpac Chopper Challenge

The Pohutukawa and the Totara Teams have been participating in the Westpac Chopper Challenge.  We had to do fitness activities over a 6 week period.  We gained sponsorship from friends and family.  We raised over $8000 for the Westpac helicopter.  Here we are practising for Challenge day.
